This Cookie Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains in full how we collect and use personal data.
At a glance
- At launch, the ROWM website uses only strictly necessary cookies — the ones required to make the site work, keep it secure, and process payments.
- We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or targeting cookies.
- If we introduce non-essential cookies in future, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
What is a cookie?
A “cookie” is a small piece of information stored on your device by a website you visit. Cookies let a website recognise your device, remember your actions and preferences over time, and keep certain features working. Cookies can also be used to analyse traffic and for advertising, though — as explained below — ROWM does not currently use them for those purposes. Cookies are used by nearly all websites and do not harm your device.
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, “PECR”), we must obtain your consent before setting any non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent because the site cannot function without them.
The cookies we use
At launch, ROWM only uses strictly necessary (essential) cookies. These are needed for the website to operate — for example to keep your session active, secure the site, and process payments. They do not gather information about you for marketing or track your browsing across other websites.
Cookies can be either:
- Session cookies: stored only during your browsing session and deleted automatically when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies: stored as a file on your device after you close your browser, and read again when you return to the site.
They can also be:
- First-party cookies: cookies set directly by ROWM.
- Third-party cookies: cookies set by another organisation whose service we use, such as our payment provider (Stripe) or our security/performance provider (Cloudflare).

The table below lists the strictly necessary cookies used on the ROWM website. Exact cookie names and durations depend on the final build.

Cookies we do not use (yet)
For transparency, ROWM does not currently set any of the following. If this changes, we will update this policy and — where required — ask for your consent before these cookies are placed on your device:
- Performance / analytics cookies: cookies that measure visits, traffic sources, and how the site is used (for example Google Analytics).
- Functionality cookies: cookies that remember choices to provide enhanced features.
- Targeting / advertising cookies: cookies used to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertising, including third-party tools such as the Meta (Facebook) pixel.
The ROWM mobile app
The ROWM app for iOS and Android does not use browser cookies. Instead, mobile apps rely on software development kits (SDKs), local device storage, and device identifiers to deliver core functionality — for example to authenticate you, process payments, and download and manage your eSIM profile. At launch these are limited to what is strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested.
Full details of the data the app collects, and the choices available to you, are set out in our Privacy Policy and in the privacy information shown on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store (Apple’s “Privacy Nutrition Labels” and Google Play’s “Data safety” section). If we later add optional analytics or marketing tools to the app, we will request your permission in line with Apple’s and Google’s requirements before doing so.
How to control cookies
Because ROWM currently uses only strictly necessary cookies, there is nothing you need to opt into. You can still control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Most browsers let you refuse all or some cookies, or alert you when a cookie is set.
Please note that if you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website — such as signing in or completing a purchase — may not work correctly.
If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future, we will provide a cookie consent tool that lets you accept or reject each category, and change your choices at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for legal reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
